Cruise Advice
For the organised among us, 2026 is the year to which we are looking when it comes to booking our next cruise. So, we have scoured the schedules of our favourite cruise lines and chosen our top 2026 cruises to whet your appetite, whether it is an exciting destination, an amazing new ship, or a novel itinerary. Read on and get inspired for 2026...
Once again, Japan is big, and whether you choose the cherry blossom cruises in the spring, or the fall colours, the range of itineraries and options is huge. We are particularly captivated by Crystal Symphony's late May 2026 departure from Tokyo. Choose the amazing 23-night circumnavigation exploring the rarely visited ports of the north and west coasts, and the beautiful tropical islands to the south.
Alternatively, take a look at The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's latest yacht Luminara cruising South East Asia and Japan in the early part of the year, and heads up also for Windstar's new Star Seeker to Japan and more - watch this space!
South America has so much to offer, with huge contrasts and lots of choices. We have to champion Peru and the Galapagos as the most exciting bucket-list option: combine a land programme in Peru featuring Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and even further afield to Lake Titicaca and the Colca Canyon, with a visit to the upper Amazon and Abercrombie & Kent's amazing new sanctuary river vessel, Pure Amazon, and finally to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands on board Silversea's lovely Silver Origin.

The new trend for 'coolcationing' means that winter in the Mediterranean is appealing. Escape the crowds and the searing heat, and enjoy easy access to museums, galleries and churches, and an easy pace of life.
Silversea has embraced the concept, and Silver Muse is the ship to choose for January, February and March 2026, whilst in November you can choose from no fewer than four different Silversea ships including the exciting new Silver Nova and Silver Ray. Windstar's Star Legend is also a great winter Mediterranean choice.
The Indian Ocean, with its crystal-clear waters and amazing wildlife, is most definitely one for the list, especially for keen snorkellers.
Tiny islands, pristine beaches and fascinating history combine to make this a great destination, and Aqua Expeditions launch the latest addition to their fleet here in 2026. Alternatively take a look at Ponant's Le Bougainville, and particularly its stand-out Madagascar itinerary in March 2026.
If Alaska is on your radar, summer 2026 could be the time to go. Regent's beautiful Seven Seas Explorer is the perfect choice, as Alaska is one of those places where the time ashore is everything, so included shore excursions have a huge value. Stand by to book rail and cruise combinations with the unforgettable Rocky Mountaineer as these sell out fast.
Finally, consider an expedition cruise with a difference to the remote Australian Kimberley with departures from May through to August between Darwin and Broome. On a Kimberley expedition on Seabourn's lovely Pursuit you will visit sandstone gorges, amazing waterfalls, ancient art, marine parks, national parks, rugged wilderness, crystalline waters, and amazing wildlife, as well as being joined by the Landowners, the Wunambal Gaambera people, who are godparents to the ship.
These are our top picks, but we have a hundred more, so call us if you have ideas, or if you have none, to find your own personal top pick for 2026.
