Our Insight

Luxury Northern Europe Cruises

We are fortunate to have such rich cruising areas right on our doorstep: luxury cruises to Northern Europe tend to sail from UK ports such as Dover, Southampton or Harwich, or from Stockholm or Copenhagen, or maybe Bergen for the Norwegian Fjords and North Cape, just a short flight away. We will help you select the right itinerary for you depending on your preferences: breath-taking scenery, wildlife, history, culture, or art and architecture.

Whilst we can no longer visit St Petersburg, the Baltic still has so much to offer. You might have a lifelong wish: to see the Midnight Sun, cruise the Norwegian Fjords, get a glimpse of a polar bear, or witness the unforgettable Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. Alternatively, you may have a hankering to explore further inland, on a Northern European river cruise. Northern European cruises are mainly available from May through to September, but occasionally some winter options are available.

For the Midnight Sun, travel during mid-summer (June and July). The Northern Lights are more likely to be seen during the winter - so choose Hurtigruten or Havila, the working ships which sail every day of the year from Bergen.

Our Tips

Ways to make it better
    • Zaanse Schans windmills, Zaandam

      Around Amsterdam

Visit windmills in Zaanse Schans, the flowers at Keukenhof, or the cheese market in Alkmaar.

    • Aerial view of Reykjavik in winter

      Private tours from Reykjavik

A helicopter tour is a must do here; the unforgettable spectacular day-tours will give you a completely different perspective.

    • Adlon Hotel, Berlin

      Two nights in Berlin

The Berlin Adlon Hotel, reopened in 1997, has to have the best location in Berlin, and is the city’s most famous hotel.

    • A tour of Tower Bridge

A private tour to Tower Bridge's Towers, high-level Walkways and new glass floor, then down to the Engine Rooms, is rather special.
