I have worked in travel for over 25 years and I am still passionate about visiting new places and discovering new cultures. I love the way that cruising allows me to discover locations I may want to return to and explore in more depth.

My favourite destination

My favourite destination is Bermuda, situated 600 miles off the coast of the USA, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other.

As Britain's oldest colony, there are plenty of monuments to reflect this, including the red telephone box! Bermuda is known for its pink coral sand beaches and colourful sub-tropical gardens. I love visiting the Botanical Gardens, with its prolific blooms of bougainvillea, oleander and hibiscus and this is also where the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art is located, with a memorial to John Lennon - he visited and wrote his last album here!

My top cruising tip

My top tip is to make sure you have a supply of any physical currency for the destinations you are visiting.

Often ships only carry a small quantity and ATMs are not always easily available in every port of call.

Best non-cruise holiday: I love Bermuda and have visited twice, such a laidback and wonderful island!

Interesting fact about yourself: I was the youngest Mayoress of the London Borough of Ealing 1980/81
