Cultural highlights include the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts and the theatres of Broadway, and the culinary scene is arguably the most exciting in the US, with an ever-changing smorgasbord of innovative restaurants, pop-ups and fashionable street food trucks.

Port Canaveral is the gateway to Orlando’s many attractions, including beaches, theme parks and the Kennedy Space Centre, where you can meet real astronauts. If you’re lucky you may be in port for a rocket launch, though it’s difficult to plan for as schedules are subject to weather conditions and technical hitches.

Palm Beach is the third richest city in the USA, a billionaire’s playground and home of Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s exclusive resort and private member’s club. With its golden sands, balmy climate and glitzy boutiques, it’s not hard to see why this city is a favourite of the rich and famous.

The Bimini Islands are the closest part of the Bahamas to the US mainland, made up of two main islands and a number of smaller cays. The islands are known for their stunning beaches, big game fishing and history of rum-running during the Prohibition era. Ernest Hemingway was also a regular visitor.

Nassau, the lively Bahamian capital, is home to duty free shopping, a burgeoning restaurant scene and elegant Georgian architecture.
