Voyage Itinerary

Before you board

One night in Oslo

Board your flight from the UK to Oslo and enjoy a one-night stay here before the following day transferring to the airport for your flight to Tromso to embark the ship.

Tromso cable car

Our tip

Visit during June or July to see the Midnight Sun - take the cable car for a better view (we were impressed that it runs until past midnight, but do check).

5 December

Norway: Tromsø

Tromso’s location well within the Arctic Circle means the summer months are lit by the Midnight Sun, a compensation for long dark winters. Explore the streets with their multi-coloured wooden houses, see the amazing architecture of the Arctic cathedral, or take the cable car up to Mount Storsteinen for a fantastic view.
Sunset over Tromsø, Norway

6 December

Norway: Lyngen Alps

7 December

Norway: Senja

Segla mountain in Senja, Norway

8 December to 9 December

Norway: Lofoten Islands

The craggy peaks of the Lofoten islands provide some of the most stunning scenery in all of Norway, and sailing through the archipelago is a wonderful experience. Fishing is still the main source of income for most of the picturesque wooden villages that are dotted along the coast.
Leknes, Lofoten Islands, Norway

10 December

Norway: Vesterålen Islands

The rugged and often rainy Vesterålen archipelago lies off the coast of north west Norway, just to the north of the better known Lofoten Islands. This is a fantastic spot for whale watching all year round, and the wild landscapes provide the backdrop to some great hiking trails.
Vesteralen Islands, Norway

11 December - At sea

12 December

Norway: Tromsø

Tromso’s location well within the Arctic Circle means the summer months are lit by the Midnight Sun, a compensation for long dark winters. Explore the streets with their multi-coloured wooden houses, see the amazing architecture of the Arctic cathedral, or take the cable car up to Mount Storsteinen for a fantastic view.

Before you return

One night in Oslo

Disembark in Tromso and fly to Oslo where you'll enjoy a one night stay before the following day flying back to the UK.
Polar Museum, Tromso

Don't miss

The Polar Museum, housed in a traditional wharf house, has a fascinating collection from the days of early polar exploration, and explorers such as Nansen and Amundsen.

The ship

MS Spitsbergen

Capacity:
150 Guests
Style:
MS Spitsbergen is relaxed and comfortable, with neutral Scandinavian decor and observation decks to take in the passing scenery.

MS Spitsbergen joined the HX Hurtigruten Expeditions fleet in 2016 after an extensive renovation and operates expedition voyages primarily to Svalbard.

What we love

Following a complete renovation in 2016, MS Spitsbergen now operates expedition voyages in the Arctic including Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland. The small size and manoeuvrability of this ship allows her to get up close to explore the magnificent fjords and icy channels of this region.

    visit our faqs

Will I save by booking with Mundy Cruising?

Can you help with pre and post-cruise arrangements?

From flights and transfers to hotels and tours, we can help with all your travel needs to make sure your trip is exceptional. What's more, we are members of ABTA and also offer full ATOL protection, not to mention a 24hr emergency contact, so we offer complete peace of mind.

What are the benefits of a small luxury ship?

Because small ships are able to reach smaller ports of call and provide a higher level of service than their big ship counterparts, we believe that small ship cruising is the very best way to travel. Usually they offer more space per person, and an attentive team to make sure you have the very best experience. Small ship cruising offers the very best of the best.
