As the trend for more immersive, destination-focused travel continues to grow, many cruise lines are working diligently to make sure their guests fully experience the areas they visit, and a number of our partners have recently expanded their programme of cruise add-ons.

Leading the pack is Regent Seven Seas Cruises. For years their included shore excursions have been a particular highlight of the Regent experience, and many of their cruises also include a complimentary three night pre- or post-cruise stay with a programme of sightseeing. If that wasn't appealing enough, the brand new 2020 Concierge Collection takes the Regent experience even further, with a carefully curated selection of overland extensions.

In Alaska, four sailings aboard Seven Seas Mariner - the 4th June San Francisco to Vancouver voyage plus the 17th June, 1st July and 9th September Vancouver to Seward voyages - have been paired with the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer rail journey in Canada. Enjoy GoldLeaf service, spectacular views and fascinating commentary whilst spending time exploring Calgary, Banff National Park and cosmopolitan Vancouver.

In Europe there are two opportunities to travel from London to Venice on the iconic Belmond Venice Simplon-Orient-Express to join Regent's newest vessel, the Seven Seas Splendor. The later departure leaves the UK on 22nd October and combines with a 10-night voyage showcasing some of the highlights of Italy and the Adriatic, including Dubrovnik, Sicily and the Amalfi Coast. The first departure of 2020 leaves London on 9th July, and also includes a two night stay in romantic Verona with an unforgettable night at the opera. This combines with the 10 night Adriatic and Greek Islands sailing including Split, Kotor, Santorini and Mykonos to make an amazing two week break.

There are four other wonderful western Mediterranean voyages which can be enjoyed with the two night Verona Opera extension, and all include 1st Sector Poltronissima Gold tickets for a performance of Verdi's 'Aida' at the open-air Arena di Verona, the best seats in the house.

Beginning on 3rd December 2020 from Cape Town, an epic African adventure combines a cross-country train journey on Rovos Rail with a two-week cruise on Seven Seas Voyager. You'll spend time in the cities of Pretoria and Cape Town, travel in comfort through scenic winelands and old diamond rush towns, and visit some of the most fascinating places in southern Africa, from the amazing birdlife of Namibia's Walvis Bay to the busy streets of Maputo, Mozambique's Portuguese-flavoured capital.

Another highlight of the collection is the 29th October 2020 voyage from Los Angeles to Lima. Travel to Mexico's Cabo San Lucas and Acapulco and enjoy time in Puerto Quetzal, where you can drive into the mountains to reach beautiful old Antigua, once Guatemala's colonial capital. See the lush rainforests of Nicaragua and Costa Rica and finish your cruise in Lima, with an included tour of the Peruvian capital, before you're whisked to the charming city of Cusco, perched amongst the high Andean peaks, for a two night stay at the Belmond Monasterio Hotel.

The following day travel to Machu Picchu on board the luxurious Hiram Bingham train, with its sumptuous 1920s-style carriages, dining cars, bar car and open observation car for perfect views of the Urubamba Valley. A guided tour of breathtaking Machu Picchu is the unforgettable highlight of this three-night tour.
