Setting sail from Avignon

The former papal stronghold of Avignon cuts a dramatic figure, perched above the Rhône and ensconced behind towering walls. The Palais des Papes was home to a succession of 14th century pontiffs, and still looms large over Avignon's atmospheric old town. The cobbled streets that surround the palace are a joy to explore, and you'll also find the ruins of the bridge that gave rise to the famous song. Avignon is more than just an open air museum though, and there is a real buzz about the place during July's popular theatre festival, when the city's hotels are full to bursting.

Don't miss

The Palais des Papes is impressive but do visit early as it’s easy to get held up on the narrow staircases behind large groups.

Arriving in Paris

Paris is a joyful expression of all that is glorious about France, a city of rarified tastes, romantic riverside walks and the occasional rather rude waiter. Although the sights will be familiar even to first-time visitors, this does nothing to lessen their impact; a word like 'iconic' doesn't quite do justice to that first glimpse of Gustave Eiffel's famous tower looming over the Seine. Culture vultures will be in seventh heaven, with a plethora of galleries and museums housing some of the finest art collections in the world, and the restaurant scene is absolutely first class.

Our tip

The latest ‘up and coming’ neighbourhood changes on a regular basis, though districts such as Montmartre and the Latin Quarter retain a timeless appeal.

The Ship

Your home from home

S.S. Catherine Suite

Uniquely designed and decorated, with an exceptional attention to detail, S.S. Catherine has been crafted to reflect the specific area in which she operates.

What we love

Introduced in 2014 the S.S. Catherine is the Uniworld most modern design to date along with the other Super Ships, S.S Maria Theresa and S.S. Antoinette. Individually decorated suites with cleverly designed French balconies open the rooms to the outside, and the outrageously over the top décor of the public spaces combines brilliantly with modern touches like the superb indoor heated pool at the back of the ship to provide a truly luxurious vessel.

Mundy Cruising was the very first cruise specialist in the UK. We have been making the best cruise holidays even better since 1970.

How? Simply by offering our clients more expertise, more personal service, more unique ideas, more fascinating add-ons, more fabulous freebies and finally (and vitally) more peace of mind.

We're happy to do all of that on the telephone. But, if you prefer to chat face to face, why not visit us at our comfortable offices just off London's Regent Street - we'd be delighted to see you.
