Sailing from Cuba
Before you board
Havana and Viñales
On arrival in Havana you will transfer to your hotel for a two night stay. You'll enjoy tours of the Viñales tobacco growing region in Pinar del Río province, including a visit to a local farm and the Cueva del Indio subterranean river, and you'll get to know Cuba's captivating capital on a walking tour of Old Havana. You'll then board Hebridean Sky to begin your unforgettable circumnavigation of the island.
Setting sail from Havana
The crumbling colonial mansions, the classic American cars, the cigars, the music drifting through the air… There's nowhere quite like Havana, and while it’s true that things are changing, this isn’t always a bad thing; the culinary scene has improved immeasurably in recent years with the rise of 'paladares' (small, privately owned restaurants).
Cuba: Varadero, Cayo Guillermo, Antilla
Cuba: Santiago de Cuba
Feisty Santiago, eastern Cuba’s most engaging city, is a sweltering cultural crossroads famed for its music, where Afro-Cuban traditions remain particularly strong. It was here that Fidel Castro first declared victory in 1959, and the locals take great pride in their city’s rebellious history.
Cuba: Casilda (Trinidad)
The seafront village of Casilda is just a 10 minute drive from Trinidad, one of Cuba’s most appealing colonial towns. Wandering the cobbled streets amongst pastel coloured buildings with louvered windows is like travelling back in time, while nearby Playa Ancón is one of the best beaches on the island.
Founded by French settlers in 1819, Cienfuegos is known as the ‘Pearl of the South’ thanks to its elegant UNESCO-listed architecture and picturesque setting. Be sure to take a stroll along the Paseo del Prado and admire the Palacio de Valle, a dazzling fusion of Gothic, Baroque and Mudejar influences.
Cuba: Cayo Largo
Cayo Largo is part of the Canarreos Archipelago, off the south coast of the Cuban mainland. There has never been a permanent Cuban settlement here, and the island was developed in the 1980s exclusively for tourists. Nevertheless, away from the resorts the wild, unspoilt beaches are absolutely stunning, home to nesting turtles during summer.
Cuba: Punta Francés, Maria la Gorda
