An interview with Graham Sadler of Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Meet the Experts
By

To mark our 50th anniversary year, we've been speaking to some of the leading lights in the luxury cruise industry.

Graham Sadler joined Regent Seven Sea Cruises - or Radisson, as it was then - when they opened their own office in the UK in 2001, and the company has gone from strength to strength ever since. Graham is Managing Director for the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa, but he still managed to find time to answer a few questions!

Q: Describe your company in no more than 50 words...

A: Regent Seven Seas Cruises is a unique ultra luxury, fully-inclusive six star cruise line, offering unrivalled experience with high levels of comfort to a congenial group of like-minded people. Five stunningly beautiful ships sail to destinations all around the world, gifting guests with time and choices.

Q: What is your proudest moment as it relates to your company?

A: It is not a moment, but a life's work: the Regent team. Not just in the good times, but also when facing life's challenges, from disasters to recession, geopolitical changes to changes of ownership, our dedicated team come to work every day with a smile on their face, proud to be a part of our wonderful cruise line.

Q: Tell me something about yourself that most people don't know

A: I have a lifetime in travel, but not always in cruise. I was a travel agent and a tour operator before finding the pinnacle of my life's work, and realising that this is the best holiday there is.

Q: Tell me what, in your opinion, is the one most significant thing that makes your cruise line different from its competitors?

A: Regent offers the perfect balance of luxury: with ships large enough to offer lots of choices, and small enough to deliver unobtrusive personal service to enhance every aspect of your trip. We end up with an emotional connection with our guests - one even sent me a poem today!

Q: What is the next big thing to come from your company?

A: That will be the day we announce we are back on the water! Loads of loyal Regent cruisers just can't wait to be back on board.

Q: Why do you love Mundy Cruising and what do you think is the secret of their 50 years of success?

A: Mundy Cruising is in many ways the perfect partner for Regent, a company which can look after our customers as well as we do. They get the basics right: stability, impeccable service and a well-run business for customers looking for luxury service from start to finish. Any company able to maintain its success over 50 years in such a rapidly changing environment deserves another 50 years at least.
