Le Levant undertakes voyages of discovery
Whilst no American company has quite replicated the travel concept created in this country by Swan Hellenic, there is one long-term contender which has many years of experience in just this kind of adventurous travel for like-minded travellers, who enquiring minds enjoy the stimulation of outstanding lecturers on board, and highly enlightening tour programmes on land.
Whilst you are unlikely to know the company’s name – High Country Passage – you cannot fail to be impressed by its credentials, creating as it does travel programmes for the Smithsonian, Harvard University alumni association, and the American Museum of Natural History amongst others.
We are pleased to bring this exclusive opportunity to clients of Mundy Cruising to join two of these very special programmes towards the end of this year:
The Classical World of Libya, Tunisia and Greece

Vietnam and Cambodia
Mekong Pandaw, 6-18 November 2008
The two Southeast Asian nations of Vietnam and Cambodia are linked by the mighty Mekong River, and share a complex history of occupation, colonisation, war and revolution. Learn more about Indochina’s complicated past and vision for the future as you delve into both ancient and modern Cambodia and Vietnam, travelling along the Mekong River where you can witness a vanishing way of life aboard Mekong Pandaw, a 64 passenger river vessel which recreates the atmosphere and character of the original colonial-era steamers of the 1920s.
During your journey you will visit Vietnam’s bustling capital, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), the fishing boats, villages and floating markets of the Mekong River, Chau Doc’s French colonial town centre, the contrast of the treasures of Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh, with the painful reminders of the Killing Fields and a turbulent past under the Khmer Rouge, relaxed Kampong Cham and the surrounding area, and finally the fantastic temples at Angkor Wat, all the time enjoying the fascinating lectures and stimulating input of your expert study leaders.
Fares from £3,300 per person include seven nights aboard the Mekong Pandaw, two nights at the Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh city, two nights at the Grand Hotel d’Angkor, one night at the Novotel Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok, meals, a comprehensive programme of lectures, shore excursions and special events, baggage handling, gratuities and port taxes.
