By the very nature of things, space is at a premium on cruise ships, and if you look at tariffs, there is usually a direct correlation between the fare and size of your stateroom (double the size, double the price). Many people are reluctant to compromise when they travel, and whilst they cannot of course replicate the amount of space they enjoy in their own homes, they do value the privacy of a large verandah, living area and extensive bathroom. We take a look at where you can find the most private space on a variety of ships – and it is interesting to see that spacious accommodation is not limited to the ultra luxury ships.

The largest suites on the largest ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet feature two master bedrooms with baths, two additional bedrooms, two additional bathrooms with showers and a spacious living area with a sofa bed and dining table.

As you would expect, The World features much of the largest accommodation afloat, with apartments including kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Many, though, would prefer the additional bedroom space to be additional living space.
