A World Class Spa

Banyan Tree Spa on board The World

This report is about the ship The World. Search for cruises aboard this ship

Guests aboard the only floating residence in the world can now enjoy the very special Banyan Tree Spa on board, bringing its Sanctuary of the Senses to the seas.
The new spa has been very well received by both residents and guests alike, with its award-winning menu of spa treatments. Using a ‘high-touch, low-tech’ approach that celebrates human touch coupled with the use of natural herbs and spices and aromatic oils, the exotic treatments are inspired by Asian traditions that have been passed through the hands of many generations.
The new spa features four single treatment rooms and a Beauty Garden that incorporates a hair salon and manicure station. Tropically adorned rooms evoke the tranquillity and time-honoured rituals of Asian spa treatments. Of course as always, the gymnasium, whirlpool, steam and sauna facilities are adjacent to the spa itself.
The World Massage is a carefully designed signature massage to soothe body aches and tension while improving circulation. The therapist employs long flowing strokes, palm and thumb pressure in this 90-minute massage using exclusively formulated massage oil to awaken all senses. Alternatively, Total Bliss is a 130-minute spa package combining choice of body scrub, body massage and a head and shoulder massage to revitalise tired bodies and tired minds.
Facials are a Banyan Tree Spa forte, and there is every reason to opt for Radiance, a 90-minute high performance facial treatment that banishes dull and uneven skin tone. Its natural emollient properties are suitable for all skin types.

Pioneer of the tropical spa, Banyan Tree Spa first opened in 1995 in Phuket, Thailand. As the first luxury oriental spa in Asia, it reintroduced an exotic blend of health and beauty remedies passed down through the generations. Banyan Tree Spa therapists are graduates of the Banyan Tree Spa Academy, located in Phuket, Bangkok and Lijiang.
