The word ‘luxury’ is perhaps one of the most over-used words in the travel business, so much so that in fact it has lost much of its meaning. After all, what was luxurious for the few several years back is now often the standard for all. So what exactly is luxury? We think that whilst the meaning of this word will vary according to who you are and what you want, the one common meaning is simply that it is about identifying and understanding your expectations and exceeding them.

At Mundy Cruising we specialise in those ships which tend to exceed expectations regularly, but which are firmly positioned at the top end of the market. They do however offer such diversity it is hard to lump them all together as ‘luxury’.

But what we look for in a luxury ship is a staff/passenger ratio sufficiently high to ensure that your personal needs are understood and indulged, creating a unique and memorable experience; a quality of hotel experience which matches the finest of land-based hotels; and guests on board who are exactly the sort of person you enjoy spending time with.

Whether your abiding memory of your cruise is enjoying caviar and champagne in the surf on a deserted beach in the Caribbean; an attentive butler bringing you breakfast on your balcony each morning; a unique shoreside experience you could never have arranged for yourself; or a glamorous event on board created just for you and your congenial fellow passengers, there will always be some feature of your holiday on a luxury cruise which you recall with surprise and delight.
