With so many places to visit and so little time, cruising is a really fabulous way to see the world and wake up with a different view each morning.
My favourite destination
Aerial view of Bora Bora, French Polynesia

The Society Islands in French Polynesia were like no other place I've visited.

The views overlooking the turquoise seas and islands were simply stunning, and I loved being in the crystal clear waters, which allowed me to get really close to the aquatic wildlife. It's a real paradise for a relaxing holiday, but there are also plenty of activities to keep you busy.

I was also lucky to be in Bora Bora when the yearly Heiva Festival was taking place, and I saw part of the singing and dancing competition that takes place between the islands, which was a real privilege to witness.

My top cruising tip

In very rough seas, more sensitive sailors can sometimes feel the negative effects of the ocean.

If this is the case, you should book a larger ship, with stabilisers and a midship cabin, lower down in the ship. This minimises the movement you will feel and maximises the enjoyment of your holiday.
